Chittagong
The Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) consist of three districts Rangamati, Khagrachari and
Bandarban.
These districts are located in the south-east of the country, near the
Myanmar and Indian border and make up 10 per cent of the total land area
of the country but only 1 per cent of the country’s population. The
estimated population in the CHT is 1.3 million, of which 90 per cent
lives in the rural areas.
